Understanding Chakras - Crown Chakra

Your chakras are seven rotating points of energy on your body. The energy field given off by these seven points collectively makes up your aura.

Your crown chakra is located on the top of your head or skull in the area we usually refer to as the crown.

Stimulate this area manually by rubbing the top of your head and be aware of doing it to others as you can cause a Kundalini opening.

The color most often associated to this chakra is violet although white, gold, and silver are used. This is the symbol for the crown chakra and the planetary association is Uranus.

The element of the crown chakra is thought and additional astrological references include Saturn and Neptune, and the signs of Capricorn and Pisces.

Trauma and abuses in this chakra include forced religion, blind obedience, lies, and invalidation of the beliefs.

Your crown chakra governs your cosmic connection, this includes spiritual matters, and your connection to the higher realms and God.

So you're looking at issues like awareness, the search for meaning, karma, grace, spiritual awakenings, and unhappiness on the spiritual level.

Goals in this area generally include wisdom, knowledge, spiritual connection, consciousness, enlightenment, and mastery.

The challenge for this chakra includes hope and faith, your spiritual conscience, your spiritual and life meaning questions like - Why was I born? What is truth? What is the deeper meaning of life?

Affirmations for this chakra include, "I am a soul with a body", "I am divinely connected", and "Everyone and everything around me is my teacher."

Years governed by this crown chakra begin on your 42nd birthday where you start really asking the question - Who am I?

Many people go into a midlife crisis at this point and go deeper into their spiritual searching often exploring new religions, new avenues for personal growth.

In the power of soul year, you really begin to experiment with using the power of your soul.

By the time we come to the heart year, you begin to question - Why are you doing this? What is your real intention?

In the voice of soul year, you really begin expressing your desires and during this time you may experience a lot of failure and a lot of its success.

By the time we come to the 47th year, we are asking ourselves - What is the new big picture for my life and how I fit into this world?

In the final year, we've created a whole new foundation and framework for the rest of our lives going forward.

An imbalanced crown chakra will lead to over intellectualization as well as spiritual addiction, confusion, and disassociation from the body.

You may also find that you're spiritually cynical, you experience learning difficulties, you have problems with rigid beliefs systems, apathy, materialism, greed, and the domination of others.

You may experience depression, find yourself in a coma, experience migraines, brain tumors, amnesia, chronic exhaustion, sensitivity to light, sound, and other environmental factors.

You may also find that you overly exert yourself in religion and spiritual practices. Conversely, those with a balanced crown chakra will experience a strong sense of spiritual connection.

They'll be open-minded. They'll be on paths of wisdom, knowledge, and mastery. They'll have broad understanding, usually deep faith.

Most often they'll be intelligent, thoughtful, and aware with the ability to perceive, analyze, and assimilate information - even abstracted information that they don't necessarily previously have reference for or understanding of.

The sounds associated to this chakra include NG, EE and HEE-HEE is the laughter yoga sound. Crystals you can use to stimulate your crown chakra include Diamond, Clear Quartz, Moldavite, Selenite, and Pyrite.

Aromatherapy or essential oils commonly used to stimulate the crown chakra include the scents of Jasmine and Frankincense.

When it comes to supporting your crown chakra look to re-establishing physical, emotional, and spiritual connections with people around you as well as the higher realms, as well as looking at issues of spiritual discipline, meditation, examination of your belief systems, and goal-setting.
