Each color has an association for people - and surprisingly - these associations are pretty standard across the world.
Research into this phenomenon, and the varying perspectives people have towards colors, is undertaken wordlwide by a compnay called the Pantone Color Institute.
Every year, Pantone publishes updates on meanings, and while there are sometimes changes, like the evolution brown has gone through the past few decades, for the most part, color meanings stay generally the same.
Favorite and trending colors do change from season to season, but in general, what people thought about blue yesterday, they'll be thinking about blue tomorrow.
