Don't personalise the anger, depression, sadness, fear, frustration and anxiety you are feeling. It’s NOT you - it’s global…. and shit is hectic out there!
Global Check In - 17 May 2018
Within a few kilometers of my house today there were two Cash-In-Transit heists. This is in addition to the robberies, losses, accidents, illnesses and a complete halt to business and money flow that I am hearing about and seeing.
It’s every industry, everywhere in the world… and it’s not JUST happening to you. So do NOT personalize this.
You are going to have make a concerted effort NOT to personalize this, like reminding yourself every few SECONDS that this isn’t just happening to you and is part of a global energy.
It won’t change the circumstances you are facing to do this, but it will help you to stay SANE.
When you personalize this and make it all about you, then ALL the responsibility rests on you and you have to deal with the shame, which humans are not equipped to do. And there would be shame, because if it’s personal then it’s ONLY happening to you - which means it isn’t happening to others.
So the contrast when you parallel yourself to others will make you want to hide this information and you’ll beat yourself up in a quiet, isolated spot where no one can see you. In other words you’ll slip into a depression and just keep digging yourself further into a hole.
The moment you remember that this is global however, it means that it is happening to others as well - which means we’re in the same boat. So nothing to be ashamed about in contrast.
Shame is a hugely powerful emotion in the human experience - one of the MOST powerful.
When you recognize the global effect, it diminishes the shame enormously and fights half the ego battle for you, because you remember that you aren’t alone.
You are however still going to need to remind yourself of this every few seconds, each and every time the thoughts of doubt, anxiety, anger, frustration, etc, etc come up.
And no it won’t necessarily change the circumstances, but, if those are your circumstances, you can choose to face them without anxiety. With inner peace.
Just because you’re in survival, it doesn’t mean you need to be sad and depressed.
You can be in survival mode and still be in a good space emotionally... it’s really ALWAYS a choice.
