How to Surrender to Anything

Whether it’s a person, relationship, to a situation or to the inevitable, surrender is never easy to do. Especially when it means letting go of something you desire - or need.

The first thing to understand about surrender is that, like everything, it’s a scale.

• Taken Away - have something taken against your will
• Lose - lose something
• Give Up - at your wit’s end, giving up
• Sacrifice - give up something you didn’t have but wanted or needed
• Surrender - accept and go with the flow of the situation
• Release - stop holding onto it
• Let Go - release all attachment
• Let God - put it in God’s hands

If you’re feeling the heaviness in the air today, and it feels like everything is pressing in on you, here’s what to do:

Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed for a while.

Centre and ground yourself, close your eyes and go to the space where you do internal work.

Call on the Holy Spirit, your Guides, your Higher Self, Animal Spirit Guides, or whoever you work with to join you. Thank them for being there to help you.

Now talk to these beings, and: ADMIT that you don’t know what to do.

This one is really important, because for as long as you are in a human body, you will NEVER be able to do this for yourself.

So, ADMIT: Holy Spirit, I don’t know how to do this and for as long as I have a human form, I will never know how to do this for myself… but I trust you to help me Holy Spirit.

So, TRUST in the process is the next step… most healing fails because the recipient does not ALLOW the healing, or denies it if they do feel it or see results.

Then, we jump back to ADMITTING again:

Holy Spirit, I have a problem and I need you to help me please.

I don’t know what to do with this situation and all the crazy thoughts in my head.

I feel overwhelmed, powerless, scared, doubtful, vulnerable, ashamed, humiliated, embarrassed, frustrated, impatient, angry, envious, unworthy and just downright inferior.

And I don’t know what to do with these thoughts of ego identification.

Now we jump back to TRUSTING again, as we ask:

Holy Spirit, I trust you to choose correctly for me.

Holy Spirit, please think for me, and help me to know that my mind holds only what I think with God.

Holy Spirit, please choose for peace and forgiveness for me.

Holy Spirit, please choose for me to let go and Let God.

So, in total it looks like:

Holy Spirit, I don’t know how to do this and for as long as I have a human form, I will never know how to do this for myself… but I trust you to help me Holy Spirit.

Holy Spirit, I have a problem and I need you to help me please.
